We are delighted to present Jill Sifah Sigman with Pitney Meadows Community Farm in collaboration with Arts Letters & Numbers with the support of Saratoga Arts Community Regrant, Rutgers University-Newark Chancellor’s Seed Grant, Price Institute and Mellon Foundation for her project Go Between: A Ritual For Listening to the Land that will be presented at the farm this Saturday, June 6th!

Jill has been at the farm this week as an artist in resident working with the soil and learning about the history of the land. She notes: “I have been learning about the land’s Mohican, Mohawk, and Abenaki history, its sandy mineral soil that is the result of glacial deposits, how Booker T. Whatley invented the CSA concept as a financial solution for Black farmers, and the weedy plants that grow here along with the cultivated ones.”
The program begins with a prelude from 4pm with collaborating musicians including Miguel Frasconi, Joe Bruchac, Angus McCullough, and Dominique Vuvan. The performance begins at 5pm. For more information about the artists visit: https://improvspaces.org/
Location: Pitney Farms, 223 West Ave, Saratoga Springs, NY
Date/Time: Saturday, June 6th / 4pm prelude; 5pm performance
This performance will kick-off the Global Performance + Sound Lab activities this week all around the Capital Region. We will also be presenting the work of composer/musician Olivia Jones and the visuals artist Derick Noetzel with the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on June 7th as a part of the closed GPS*2026 participants discussion and open jam in their beautiful space. That evening will also begin with a talk On Sound, Archives, Affect, and Place with an organ performance and conversation
with Adam Tinkle (Troy Savings Bank Music Hall Artist in Residence) and Eva Giloi (Rutgers University–Newark).
