ARTIST
Adrianos Efthymiadis (b. 1997) is an artist, curator, designer, writer, and guest lecturer based in Athens, Greece. He is Director of Communication and Design at Arts Letters & Numbers, a New York–based nonprofit arts organization that brings together artists, architects, musicians, writers, scientists, and researchers through residencies, exhibitions, publications, performances, and interdisciplinary educational programs.
He studied architecture at The Cooper Union in New York before continuing independent studies in philosophy and theology.
Over the past decade, Adrianos has participated in solo and group exhibitions and has worked with, for, and alongside artists, writers, musicians, architects, filmmakers, thinkers, and institutions in different capacities, including as an artist, curator, editor, designer, project manager, artistic consultant, researcher, and lecturer. His writing has appeared in academic journals, exhibition catalogues, and independent publications.
His work as curator and project manager has included two editions of the Venice Architecture Biennale. In 2021, he served as Associate Curator and Project Manager of SunShip: The Arc That Makes the Flood Possible, presented by Arts Letters & Numbers for the CITYX Venice Italian Virtual Pavilion at the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale. In 2023, he served as Co-Curator and Project Manager of Archive Infinite Fragile Double, presented by Arts Letters & Numbers for the CITYX Venice Italian Virtual Pavilion at the 18th Venice Architecture Biennale. He has also worked on projects with institutions including Onassis Stegi, EMST – National Museum of Contemporary Art, MAXXI, The Cooper Union, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the Lisbon Architecture Triennale, the Architectural Association, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, NASA, the Exploratorium, the University of Manitoba and others.
Across these projects he has worked with, for, and alongside figures including He Yunchang, Fred Moten, Walter Murch, Lawrence Weschler, Terry Riley, Michael Harrison, Penelope Umbrico, Mishka Henner, Adam Basanta, Ken Gonzales-Day, Riva Lehrer, Benjamin Labatut, Alberto Pérez Gómez, Kenneth Anger, Genesis P-Orridge, Vito Acconci, and Pheeroan akLaff.
Alongside his artistic and curatorial practice, Adrianos has initiated a number of independent editorial and publishing projects. He is the founder and director of The Village Idiot, the world’s smallest moving-image exhibition space, and the founder of ASS PRESS, an independent publishing house. His other projects include Desdemona, a publication dedicated to long-form conversations with artists; The Cum Rag, an underground gay pornographic magazine; IDIOTLOG(UE), a forthcoming publication devoted to the figure of the idiot across philosophy, literature, theology, and art; and House of UnCommons, a forthcoming online interdisciplinary research center dedicated to convivial forms of inquiry, sustained conversation, experimental scholarship, and fugitive modes of thinking beyond conventional institutional frameworks.
MUSIC
Nicholas Kopp aka djdrummernk is an artist, musician and educator whose work spans a wide range of genres across a variety of projects ranging from jazz, electronic, experimental noise, and musical theater. Thanks to eclectic background, he has opened for an uncommonly diverse collection of artists, from Mobb Deep to the New York City Ballet, and is very grateful to be contributing to his 3rd year running of the Improv Spaces Festival.
