Welcome to the Fall 2025 Season at Improv Spaces. We are excited to announce the upcoming performances by improvisers from the Capital Region and beyond. We will start off Tuesday, September 30th with a program featuring Matthew Ryals and djdrummernk for special evening at Mt Ida Preservation Hall of immersive sounds and projection.

Matthew is a synthesist and composer-improviser, whose music delves into improvisation, real-time sound generation, cybernetics, chance operations and archival experimentation. The push and pull of the concepts of improvisation and potentialities that he investigates at the base of his work along with his archival impulses are really powerful within the larger scope of his interdisciplinary practice. We are lucky to be able to experience his spontaneous experimental improvisational sound in this program within the acoustic space of the sanctuary at Mt. Ida. He has performed across the US and in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Europe.

djdrummernk is well known to folks living in the 518. We are particularly thrilled to have the artist perform a long improvisational set of his work in combination with his practice in improvised immersive projection, and especially so within the beautifully vaulted ceilings of Mt. Ida Preservation Hall.

We know this will be a night to experience and where the live component of live music and performance will be truly keen. Tickets are available now.

Be sure to check back with us as our Fall programming continues Friday, October 3rd, at Mt. Ida Preservation Hall, featuring the trio of Andrew Drury, drums; Jill Burton, voice; and Chris Cochrane, guitar; along with a special performance by Apostrophebeats.

We are truly excited by this fall and hope that you will be able to be there with us.
