Just one week away! Dec. 2nd Monday 7:30pm at Mount Ida Preservation Hall in Troy, Improv Spaces is thrilled to be presenting Brooklyn- and Chicago-based musicians Eli Wallace, piano; Bill Harris, drums; Josh Berman, trumpet; and Ishmael Ali, cello, playing from their new album An Ill-Fitting Garment. The evening will open with a special performance by Albany-based percussionist Matt Weston.

The music of Wallace, Harris, Berman and Ali underline improvisational collaboration — blurring and bending rhythms and pitches — bringing together what might seem foreign and familiar into a syncretic whole.

Matt Weston will open the evening with a special solo performance on percussion and electronics. Weston also just dropped his new double LP Communism Has Appeared on the Scene. His 2023 double LP Embrace This Twilight was chosen for Bandcamp’s year-end Best Experimental Music list.
